I
spent some of the most splendid moments exploring the beaches of India as I
had a very good time reveling their beauty.
From the beginning I am a nature lover and I often plan my trips to hill
stations to escape the summer heat of plains and perceive my inmost world
and amity, but it is certainly blue waters that drives me crazy. The
enormity of sea hooded by blue sky especially makes me feel totally lost in
the world of fantasy. I just love to sit for hours viewing the enchanting
waves that rises too high than vanishes in the blue sea.
My first choice was Kerala as I have heard about some of the best beautiful
beaches in India. I made a trip to India with one of my NRI friend, Murthy
although he is from Tamil Nadu but he emphasized me that not to miss the
beaches of Kerala. Now I really feel that beaches are one thing that should
not be missed in any itinerary on Kerala tours.
To my stupefaction, some of these beaches are quite secluded specially
meant for those looking for a close alliance with natural splendor, while
some are very noisy. In fact, quite and calm beaches with tranquil waves
impressed me the most.
We arrived at Thirivananthpuram from there we took a tourist cab that took
almost one and a half hour to reach Varkala beach as the beach was 42km from
there. I came to know from the locals there that the Silvery Sand Varkala
beach, also known as Papnasam beach is considered to be a holy sea and one
must take a dip in this water as it is believed that a dip in this water
washes away ones sins. Just at the edge of the beach there was perched
Janardhana temple. The local around us also told me that the temple is
800-year-old shrine dedicated to Agyappan and Hanuman, They could feel my
blank face then they tried to explain me with much of their local language
and little of English, all I could understand was temple of Indian Gods.
I could feel that the beaches of Kerala are more flooded with picturesque
scenic. There are nearly 17 beaches in Kerala yet to be explored with their
full zest. In fact, Kerala's entire 900-km coast is lined with sandy
beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms. The palm-lined beaches of
kerala are distinguished for the peaceful ocean spray and pale blue waters.
The most famous of Kerla beaches are Kovalam, Varkala, Shanghumukham,
Somatheeeram and Marari beach.
I fully cherish my experiences on the beaches of Kerala. If I had not
visited the place I would have surely missed something. As I explored
Varkala beach, I could discover the world of dream and ineffable coming
alive.
