GoaIt was this year in February when one of my friends in Goa Steven D'souza invited me for holidays. Due to my busy office schedule I could not accept his invitation but as I was able to generate some free days from my hectic schedule I immediately packed my bags and flew for my destination. As I landed in Goa I forget all my anxiety and gets soaked in the carnival atmosphere of Goa. My friend along with his family was there to greet me on the airport, it was really a thrilling moment for me.

D'souza told me although the place has many charm, it is its beaches that made it a most sought after destination among tourists.

My friend's house was located at a very prime location that is in South of Goa, since this place is in close proximity to airport and railway station, the city and shopping center. I could easily felt the predominance of Portuguese legacy in its building structures, as the construction was more on the lines of Portuguese and Goan style of architecture.

Next day morning my friend along with his family took me to the beautiful beaches of Goa. There I felt the fragrance and the magic of golden sand on the seashore. Hiking barefoot on the shimmering sands, the cool breeze of the blue waters with a sip of coconut made me totally hypnotized where I could only sense the pulchritude around. We opted for a shack nearby that provided us with shelter to stay away from sun and enjoy the cool breeze. It was just a mesmerizing experience at the seashore seeing the tranquilizing waves some times rolling up to you kissing your feet.

Next day morning we visited the famous churches of Goa, being a religious person the visit was on a priority list. The first church that I visited was the Church of Our Lady Rosary in Panaji. My friend D'souza told me that this is one of the oldest church in Goa. And after my visit to this synagogue, I could not resist exploring the other churches like Church of St. Francis of Assisi, The Se Cathedral,Basilica of Bom Jesus.-One of largest church, built during the 16th century is built in Tuscan style. I also saw the Cross-of Miracles, said to have grown in size and have properties of healing which I could also feel by just having a glance over it.

Besides all the charms of Goa I cannot forget the delicacies of Goan cuisine full of fresh seafood. My friend offered me some of the best preparations of Konkani and Portuguese dishes that were that were really mouth watering.
